Multiple Widget Types

Widgets are the primary method to place content on a page. Simply navigate to the page, click the area of the page where the widget should be placed, then use the resulting popup to select any number of widgets to add to the area. 

Page management A simple admin screen is used to create and modify pages. User maps the page to a department, assigns the layout, and provides the title and meta-tag data. Once created, the new page can be linked to from any page or menu item.
Unlimited Page Layout choices per department Page Layouts describe the arrangement of content between the page header and footer. For example, layout choices might be a thin left column and wide main column, three-column, various stacked column arrangements, and so on. Once these options are defined, the admin screen used to create/modify a website page displays a set of icons that allow the user to select which layout they want for the page.
Menu management Allows for creation of hierarchical menus. Each menu can be placed on any page using the Menu Widget.
Blog Posts (for News or other article streams) Built-in blog feature is used for News or any other set of information desired.  Unlimited categories can be used by the blog, and multiple content authors have access to it.  Recent blog post previews can be placed on any page throughout the site.  All blog categories accessible as RSS feeds.
Events Events can be created and displayed either in a list or on a calendar.  "Upcoming Events" previews can be placed on any page throughout the website.  All event categories accessible as RSS feeds.
Slideshows / Photo Galleries Provides interactive slideshows that can be added to any page.  Options for slideshow widget are (1) directly on page, (2) display as popup, and (3) display as rotating marquee.  Slideshows can also be displayed as a photo gallery.
FAQ management Once created, FAQ’s are added to pages using the FAQ Widget.
Promotions management Allows content to be created and marked to display for a set period of time. Once created, Promotions are added to pages using the Promotion Widget. A single promotion widget can be configured to rotate through multiple promotions.
Content segmentation by department All pages are associated with the organization’s departments. Only users assigned to a given department may edit that content. Users in the Webmaster role can edit all content.
Page regions marked as global Global Regions may be added to page layouts so it can be edited in one place, but made available anywhere the corresponding Global Region is located
Generic widgets marked as global Similar to Global Region, but at the lower “widget” level
Page regions marked as Department-wide Department Regions can be placed in page layouts so it is available instantly to all pages associated with a given department
Approval Workflow

All content changes require approval before publishing. The system can be configured to use up to three levels of approval. All changed content is marked as Approval Pending. If current authenticated user has approval rights, an Approve button sits next to the content that needs approval on a given page.

Approval Popup screen Available from an Approve button next to any changed content on the site. When clicked, the approver is presented with before-and-after views of the content awaiting approval. Actions on this screen include Approve, Reject (with comments), and Revert
My Approvals screen Displays all approvals waiting for the current user to approve.  Provides option to approve or view the actual location of the changed content
Mobile Browser Rendering Automatic re-rendering of content to fit nicely on many popular smartphones (Android, iPhone)
Clean Printing of any page The application will remove extraneous content such as side panels and header graphics when pages are printed.
Site Search using Google or Bing indexing A custom search capability is included in the foundation that makes calls to Google or Bing to receive search results. We believe this offers superior results compared to internal full-text searches against the CMS database.
Request It Website users can request information or services from this module. These submissions can then be managed and assigned by internal personnel. Submitter can be optionally informed of updates via email.
Report It Similar to Request It, but focuses on reporting issues.
Alert Me Allows the public to request to receive email updates across a range of information categories.
Map It Allows the website administrators to create layers of points or routes on a Google map for display to the public. For example, a city may want to display upcoming road closings on the map with links to additional information.
